Job summary

Maize Unified School District 266 seeks a Speech Language Pathologist (PRN) to support the instructional program for the 24-25 school year. The clinician will assess communication skills, develop IEPs, and coordinate with families, teachers, and other professionals.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply assessment instruments.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and software applications.
  • Ability to perform basic math including calculations using fractions, ratios and percents.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read technical information, compose documents, and facilitate group discussions; analyze issues.
  • Knowledge of codes, policies, regulations and laws.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of speech and hearing mechanisms; principles of speech and language therapy.
  • Ability to utilize specialized equipment in communication disorders.
  • Ability to translate therapy data into meaningful educational activities.
  • Ability to communicate with tact and patience.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses students' communication skills to identify disorders and develop recommendations for treatment.
  • Collaborates with parents, teachers, physicians, and staff to provide services per guidelines.
  • Coordinates meetings and processes for eligible students, presents results, and provides training.
  • Develops IEPs and educational materials to minimize impact of disorders.
  • Interprets medical reports to ensure appropriate treatment plans.
  • Maintains files and records for reference and compliance.
  • Participates in meetings and training to support student success.
  • Prepares written materials for documentation and reference.
  • Provides speech and language therapy to students to minimize effects on success.
  • Provides itinerant services across multiple sites.
  • Researches resources and methods to address student needs.
  • Responds to inquiries and refers to appropriate personnel.
  • Schedules therapy sessions and directs services efficiently.
  • Supervises paras and/or assistants to support program objectives.
  • Transports supplies to sites and ensures availability.
  • Performs other duties to ensure efficient functioning.
