Job summary

Gateway Regional School District is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to cover a full-time maternity leave from February 2027 through June 2027 at Chester Elementary School.

The SLP will manage a caseload of about 40 students from preschool through 5th grade, addressing ASD, language impairment, articulation, and AAC needs.

Experience with MA IEPs and state regulations is required, and collaboration with teachers and families will be essential to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• Experience with MA IEPs and Massachusetts regulations
• Experience evaluating and developing IEP goals
• Ability to manage a diverse preschool to 5th grade caseload
• Experience with articulation/phonology and AAC systems

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage a caseload of speech-language students at Chester Elementary School.
• Present evaluation results, goal mastery updates, and service delivery recommendations during multidisciplinary IEP team meetings.
• Write comprehensive evaluation reports, IEP progress reports, and draft new IEP goals/objectives utilizing current MA IEP formats and timelines.
• Work collaboratively with the school team to develop and implement educationally based IEPs for speech-language students.
• Provide a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech-language disorders and disabilities using culturally and linguistically appropriate methods.
• Provide screening to identify students with suspected speech-language disabilities.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement age and linguistically appropriate accommodations and intervention strategies in the classroom.
• Provide information, support, and counseling to parents and families as appropriate.
• Keeps thorough, ongoing records for individual students receiving speech and language therapy services.
• Compiles case history data on those cases where additional family history, health history, early developmental history, and environmental history are deemed appropriate.
