Job summary

The School District of Lee County is seeking Speech Language Pathologists for the 2026-2027 school year to provide assessment, diagnostic, therapeutic, and instructional support for students with speech-language impairments in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in speech-language pathology and a valid Florida teaching certificate and/or license.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.
  • Valid Florida teaching certificate and/or valid license in speech-language pathology required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer in-depth diagnostic evaluations for language, articulation, voice, and fluency and provide reports.
  • Schedule meetings and contact parents, teachers, and administrators for eligibility staffing, IEP meetings, and conferences.
  • Participate in eligibility and placement staffing meetings, Child Study Team meetings, and development of pre-referral classroom interventions.
  • Develop individualized educational plans for students on caseload and revise annually.
  • Provide speech-language therapy for eligible students as prescribed by IEP.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and provide consultation and support for instruction.
  • Develop therapy schedules and prepare materials for use in therapy.
  • Maintain attendance logs and therapy progress notes; provide quarterly and annual progress reports.
