Job summary

The School District of Lee County is seeking Speech-Language Pathology Assistants to support K-12 students across Lee County. The role involves providing direct therapy under supervising SLP and documenting student progress.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders and a Florida license as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant; preferred experience is one year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
• Florida license as Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, FERPA, Sunshine Law and related privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapy to students following a plan of care and protocol developed by the supervising SLP.
• Document student performance and report to the supervising SLP.
• Prepare therapy materials according to the plan of care.
• Adhere to a daily schedule developed with the supervising SLP.
• Assist the SLP with speech, language, and hearing screenings without clinical interpretation.
• Follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP.
• Program and provide instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices.
• Assist with clerical duties, such as preparing materials and scheduling activities.
• Perform Medicaid administrative claims reimbursable activities as directed in accordance with the SDAC Guide.
• Maintain current licensure and certifications.
