Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join the Special Programs team in Houston. You will assess for communication disorders, set ambitious goals, and deliver purposeful therapy to close gaps in communication and academic skills.

The SLP reports to the regional Lead SLP and will travel between campuses as needed. This full-time on-site role requires a Master’s in Communication Disorders, Texas licensure, and ASHA CCC; CFY interns are accepted.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Communication Disorders from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas license as a Speech Language Pathologist granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
• National Certification of Clinical Competence (ASHA CCC).
• CFY Interns accepted.

Responsibilities

• Review IEPs and ensure 100% implementation of therapy services.
• Create IEPs aligned to instruction with collaboration of parents and educators.
• Monitor students’ therapy and progress, update goals, and request testing as needed.
• Schedule ARDs and ensure 100% compliance with TEA timeframes.
• Maintain therapy logs, SHARS records, and progress reports quarterly.
• Participate in ARD planning with Diagnostician/LSPS/Ot/PT as needed.
