Job description

Job Overview

Position: Speech Language Pathologist (full‑time, 12‑month). Job Location: Buffalo, NY 14203. Salary Range: $61,003 – $76,661 (annual). Sign‑On Bonus: $2,500 ($1,250 upon hire, $1,250 after 6 months).

Responsibilities

• Imparting knowledge via the implementation of appropriate Speech‑Language Pathology instruction.
• Display competence in the area of speech‑language impairment (either licensed or under the careful direction and supervision of a licensed SLP); determine type and severity of impairment, prognosis and appropriate instruction and treatment.
• Evaluation, diagnosis, and recommendation for therapeutic intervention for individuals with communication disorders; collaborate with classroom teachers, other SLPs, OTs, PTs, Audiologists, supervisors, and others.
• Submit written reports of evaluations, treatment and educational plans, progress reports, and discharge reports; maintain paperwork within legal and agency guidelines; ensure timely and organized completion.
• Make appropriate referrals as needed to achieve positive therapeutic results.
• Communicate regularly with families and students.
• Exhibit professional judgment, maturity, and pursue continuing education and in‑service programs; maintain licensure and TSSLD certification.
• Supervise CFYs and TSSLDs in accordance with legal guidelines and agency policies.
• Perform any other duties requested by supervisor.

Education & Credentials

• Master’s degree from an accredited speech‑language pathology program.
• NewYorkState licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist (or CFY eligible).
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology issued by ASHA (or CFY eligible).
• Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) Initial or Professional certificate, or TSHH Permanent certificate.

Physical Requirements

• Bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, printing, crawling, and running.
• Vision, speech, tactile and hearing senses adequate to perform job requirements.
• Frequent sitting/standing, and when appropriate, floor sitting with pediatric patients.
