Job summary

North Thurston Public Schools in Lacey, WA seeks a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant for the 2026-27 school year in the Early Intervention Program. The one-year position supports SLPs in evaluating and delivering speech-language services to students.

The SLPA will work under a designated administrator, collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families, and maintain student records and goals in Part C regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in speech pathology from an accredited college or university.
• Ability to work with diverse families and communities.
• Strong verbal and written communication with parents, students and staff.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license and ability to travel between children’s homes and other job related locations during the work day.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluations of students in the early intervention program.
• Develop and maintain a services schedule for all assigned students.
• Maintain student service records per federal/state regulations.
• Provide habilitative or rehabilitative services in collaboration with other staff.
• Coordinate with teachers, therapists and clinicians to design and implement programs.
• Maintain ongoing records and update goals for each case.
