Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services in Leesburg, FL is seeking a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist to join our team serving Lake County Schools. You will assess students, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support communication and language development in the classroom and social settings.

The position requires ASHA certification, Florida SLP licensure (or eligibility) and a commitment to evidence-based practice,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• FL State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or eligible to obtain.
• ASHA CCC-SLP certification or CF accepted where applicable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify disorders and plan treatment.
• Provide evidence-based interventions to improve articulation, language, and fluency.
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and school-based team to support classroom participation.
• Monitor progress and adapt treatment plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Educate parents and teachers on strategies to carry over skills in classroom settings.
• Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and billing documentation.
• Attend IEP and team meetings and participate in professional development.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and ethical standards in schools.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of professionals, working collaboratively to support students' communication and language development within the Lake County Public School System. Responsibilities

• The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
• Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
• Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
• Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• FL State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) unless a CF.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of documentation practices is a plus.
