Strides Therapy & Educational Services is seeking a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students in Hillsborough County Public Schools. The role involves evaluating speech and language needs, creating individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions within a school setting.

The candidate will collaborate with teachers, parents, and a school-based team to promote student participation and carryover of strategies in the classroom.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• FL State licensure as Speech-Language Pathologist.
• CCC-SLP certification from ASHA (unless CF).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Dedication to culturally competent and client-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based speech-language pathology interventions to improve communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and school-based team to support classroom participation.
• Monitor and document progress, adapting treatment plans as needed.
• Guide and educate parents, teachers, and staff to carry over strategies in the classroom.

Position Overview

As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals. Your expertise will be essential in promoting students' overall success and well-being in the school environment.

Additional Details

• Lopez Exceptional Student Center 5 days a week
• Leto High: Starting 10/9 with a 2 day a week need
• Dorothy Thomas Exceptional Center: Starting 10/9 2 with a 2 day a week need

Responsibilities

• The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
• Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
• Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
• Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• FL State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) unless a CF.
