Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services seeks a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students in Leesburg, FL. The SLP will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with teachers and families to improve communication skills.

You will provide evidence-based interventions, monitor progress, and document outcomes while ensuring compliance with school policies and professional standards. Licensure and CF/CCC guidance apply.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • FL State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Florida.
  • CCC-SLP certification from ASHA unless CF.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in private practice or outpatient settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing and documentation practices is a plus.
  • Dedication to culturally competent and client-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions to improve articulation, fluency, and language skills.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and school-based team to support classroom participation and social activities.

  • Maintain accurate records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
  • Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology through ongoing learning.
  • Participate in IEP and team meetings and school-based professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards.

Position Overview

As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals. Your expertise will be essential in promoting students' overall success and well-being in the school environment.

Additional Details: Lake County is looking for full time SLPs to join their team.

Responsibilities
  • The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
  • Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
  • Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.

Qualifications
