Job summary

Wilson County Schools in Lebanon, TN seeks a Speech Language Therapist to support students with speech and language impairments within the General Education environment. The role works under the Special Education Supervisor and requires licensure and health clearance; starting date is immediate.

The SLP will screen, evaluate, document IEPs, and collaborate with committees and families to plan services. A 200-day schedule applies and the position is exempt. Salary is listed per year.

Qualifications

• Holds a Tennessee School Services Provider license and meets health and physical requirements.
• Bachelor degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow district procedures for screening and referring students for speech and/or language evaluations.
• Participate in building committees to report screening and evaluation referral information.
• Choose and complete comprehensive speech and/or language evaluations per State Standards and District Guidelines.
• Provide a complete diagnostic summary report including evaluation information and eligibility recommendations.
• Complete IEP paperwork timely and accurately following state/district guidelines.
• Attend and lead IEP meetings and plan program services based on data.
• Develop and maintain the instructional component of the IEP based on evaluation results and ongoing progress.
• Complete daily notes for each student in a timely manner.
• Use varied approaches and materials to address IEP goals based on age and ability.
• Report progress toward IEP goals to parents every nine weeks.
• Maintain communication with faculty about the SLP role and keep a conducive learning environment.
• Develop work schedules that fit student and faculty needs.
