Job summary

Cleveland Schools is seeking a Speech/Language Pathologist to provide speech and language services to students with disabilities in Cleveland, Tennessee. The role requires collaboration with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop IAIEPs and implement evidence-based interventions.

The position emphasizes in-person service delivery, regular attendance, and adherence to district guidelines. A Tennessee license in SLP is required; CCCs preferred.

Qualifications

• Tennessee License in Speech/Language Pathology through Tennessee Department of Education; Prefer Certification Clinical Competencies (CCCs)
• Master’s degree
• Ability to communicate with students, school personnel
• Ability to work cooperatively with others
• Ability to administer, score, and interpret speech/language assessments
• Ability to demonstrate effective behavioral and management technique
• FLSA exempt

Responsibilities

• Requires regular, reliable, and punctual in-person attendance at the assigned work location.
• Assesses students’ communication skills (e.g., articulation, language, voice, etc.) for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining eligibility, and providing recommendations for placement
• Coordinates IEP meetings for eligible students with parents, teachers, and students for the purpose of presenting evaluation results and developing plans
• Maintains all special education paperwork in a timely manner including IAIEPs, reevaluation summary, student progress reports, census and yearly progress data
• Consults with parents, administrators, school psychologist and other professionals in order to develop IAIEPs
• Instructs and develops daily lesson plans as prescribed in the IAIEPs from PLEPs and goals
• Collaborates with a variety of groups and/or individuals for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues, and providing services in compliance with guidelines
• Instructs eligible students in the use of appropriate communication technologies (hearing aids, FM systems, augmentative devices) for minimizing educational impact
• Maintains files and/or records for reference and compliance
• Researches resources and methods for addressing students’ needs
• Performs other related duties assigned by the Principal and/or Supervisor of Special Populations
