Job summary

Melissa ISD is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for the 2026-2027 school year. You will plan and provide speech-language pathology services to students with speech, language, and hearing disorders, assess students, and deliver therapy aligned with IEP goals.

Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, ARD participation, collaborating with teachers, counseling families, and supervising assistants as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in speech-language pathology required.
  • TX license as SLP required or Texas Education Agency certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree may be considered in lieu of Master’s in some cases.
  • Strong knowledge of evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech-language disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide individual and group therapy to students.
  • Evaluate student progress and determine therapy termination readiness.
  • Conduct independent evaluations to assess eligibility for services.
  • Participate in ARD committee to interpret assessment data and plan goals.
  • Counsel and involve parents in remedial process.
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan classroom activities and improve communication skills.
  • Provide professional development to school staff on communication deficits.
  • Maintain environment conducive to learning and manage student behavior.
  • May supervise assistants and coordinate evaluation of services.
  • Prepare and file required reports and follow district policies.
