Job summary

Bentonville Schools is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to lead the district's speech therapy program across Thomas Jefferson Elementary. Under the Director of Special Services, you will develop, implement, and coordinate services for students with speech needs.

The role includes screening and evaluating students, developing IEPs, providing evidence-based therapy, coordinating assistive technology, documenting services, and collaborating with staff to support communication outcomes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of speech therapy theories, models, and evidence-based practice to guide interventions.
• Knowledge of speech development and the influence of disabilities on communication.
• FERPA and state education laws relevant to speech therapy in schools.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and coordinates the district's speech therapy program.
• Screens, evaluates and monitors students for educational and therapeutic intervention.
• Collaborates with staff to interpret speech performance and outcomes.
• Evaluates and documents speech profiles and guides intervention decisions.
• Participates in IEP development and planning of services.
• Provides targeted, evidence-based therapy to support participation.
• Assesses need for assistive technology and recommends use at school.
• Documents services and maintains records per policies and laws.
• Plans staff and parent training on speech therapy topics.
