Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or related field and/or 3 years of experience in similar role.
• Passionate about mentoring.
• Youth-development experience in areas like positive youth development, college/career readiness, multicultural partnerships, inclusive/anti-racist practices, volunteer management, or work with Spanish-speaking communities.
• Team-oriented and able to work with a wide range of people to achieve shared goals.

Responsibilities

• Implement STARS Mentoring Program and other classroom facilitation for School Based Mentoring goals.
• Serve as subject expert on the AIM and STARS curricula to support implementation by coworkers and agency partners.
• Network and build relationships with schools and student communities to rally support and resources.

The Program Coordinator serves as a subject expert on the AIM and STARS curricula in order to support their implementation by coworkers and agency partners. This employee must have well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills to network and rally school and student support; must embody the highest standards of ethical behavior and conduct, possessing a strong personal code of ethics, integrity, diversity, and trust. This role must have experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds, including youth of color, and bring a demonstrated understanding of their diverse cultures, histories, and family dynamics.
