Job summary

San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) is seeking a Physical Therapist to join the Related Services Division of the Special Education Services Department. You will assess and treat students with disabilities, coordinating care within IEPs and collaborating with families and school staff.

The role requires a California PT license, a master’s degree, and 2+ years of pediatric or school-based experience. Position is temporary exempt with a six-month maximum term and potential ESY involvement.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited program in Physical Therapy.
• Must have completed all fieldwork requirements and possess a master’s degree.
• Strong knowledge of core values and collaboration in school settings.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate student needs using standardized assessments and team input.
• Plan, provide, and monitor PT treatment per IEPs or 504 plans.
• Develop gross motor skills and promote independence in mobility.
• Consult with school staff on accommodations and equipment usage.
• Provide training for school personnel.
• Attend IEP meetings and team conferences.
• Maintain service records and progress reports.
• Work in a school year and summer assignment with ESY involvement.
• Other duties as assigned.
