Job summary

County of Tulare Health & Human Services Agency seeks a Physical Therapist to support children with disabilities in a school-based California Children’s Medical Therapy Program. You will collaborate with physicians, therapists, school staff, and families to implement therapy plans and improve mobility and function.

Responsibilities include family-centered treatment planning, parent education, documentation, and participation in medical therapy conferences.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an approved Physical Therapy program.
• License to practice as a physical therapist by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check may be required.
• Valid California driver's license if job involves driving.

Responsibilities

• Establishes treatment plans with functional goals based on evaluations and family-centered care.
• Provides therapy as prescribed by the child’s physician.
• Consults with school personnel, equipment/orthotic providers, and social services.
• Educates parents/caregivers on home programs and activities for the child.
• Assesses needs for rehabilitation equipment and orthotics and ensures proper fit.
• Participates in medical therapy conferences and parent meetings.
