Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks a temporary Physical Therapist to enable students with disabilities to benefit from specialized instruction in the least restrictive environment. The PT will evaluate students, develop intervention strategies, and collaborate with teachers and families to implement IEPs and 504 Plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral degree in physical therapy from an accredited program.
• Active Illinois license to practice as issued by the IL Department of Professional Regulations with renewal every two years.

Responsibilities

• PT evaluates students through observation, therapeutic handling, record review, and interviews with parents, students, and teachers.
• Collaborates with the school team to develop IEPs and Section 504 Plans.
• Develops and implements individualized PT intervention strategies.
• Collaborates with staff, families, community agencies, and physicians for coordinated services.
• Documents PT services in a timely manner per district and state policies.
• Evaluates student progress per IL PT Practice Act and district policies.
• Addresses assistive technology, equipment, transportation, accessibility, and environmental accommodations.
• Provides supervision of PT assistants as required by Illinois law.

Education

Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral degree in physical therapy
