Job summary

Chatham County Schools is seeking a school physical therapist to support students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment. You will develop, implement and coordinate a comprehensive PT program within the LEA, providing screening, evaluation and intervention services.

You will consult with school teams, parents and community providers, train staff on physical needs, ensure compliance with the NC Physical Therapy Practice Act and FERPA, and promote safe, accessible learning

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Current licensure as a physical therapist in North Carolina.
• Minimum two years of experience; pediatric experience preferred.
• Five years of school-based therapy is noted as desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of physical therapy assistants at least every 30 days.
• Develop, implement and coordinate a school-based PT program within the LEA.
• Evaluate students using appropriate tests and collaboration with families.
• Interpret assessment findings and communicate with parents and school teams.
• Participate with the school team to develop IEPs and Section 504 Plans.
• Collaborate with community therapists for coordination of services.
