Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of physical therapy principles, theory and evidence-based practice.
• Ability to plan, implement and coordinate a school-based PT program.
• Knowledge of FERPA, legal mandates and confidentiality requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents, school teams and professionals.
• Experience evaluating students and contributing to IEPs/504 Plans.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to professional, ethical and legal standards of practice.
• Provide direct supervision of physical therapy assistants at least every 30 days.
• Develop, implement and coordinate the PT program within the LEA.
• Evaluate students using appropriate tests and professional observation.
• Interpret assessment findings and communicate with parents and school teams.
• Collaborate to develop IEPs and 504 Plans and implement interventions.
• Maintain records in accordance with PT acts and school policies.
