Job summary

Carmel Central School District seeks a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide school-based services to students, under supervision of a program administrator. You will evaluate and plan therapy following physician referrals or committee reviews, and collaborate with teachers and families to support student goals.

You will supervise therapy assistants when assigned, maintain records, and contribute to IEP development. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of occupational therapy methods and objectives, especially for pediatric caseloads.
• Ability to supervise therapy assistants and related staff.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to collaborate with teachers and parents.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and develop occupational therapy plans for students.
• Implement pediatric OT treatment or supervise therapy assistants.
• Maintain treatment records and required documentation (IEPs, reports).
• Communicate progress with program coordinators, teachers, and parents.
• Develop home programs and adapt equipment needs as appropriate.
