Job summary

Gersh Autism in Downtown Brooklyn seeks an Occupational Therapist to provide school-based OT for K-12 students. The role collaborates with other disciplines, reviews outcomes, and adapts intervention plans to support safety, participation, and progress toward IEP goals.

Responsibilities include evaluating students, developing intervention plans, educating staff and families, and maintaining records. The position requires CPI safety familiarity and adherence to confidentiality, with a minimum

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an NBCOT-recognized occupational therapy program.
• Must hold State OT/L licensure in the hiring state.
• One year of pediatric school-based OT experience preferred.
• Experience working with children with disabilities is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Sensory knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with other disciplines to plan and deliver OT services.
• Evaluates students and develops comprehensive occupational profiles.
• Writes reports reflecting strengths and barriers to participation in school.
• Develops and implements individualized intervention plans.
• Participates in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provides education to staff, families, and community providers.
• Maintains records and ensures confidentiality and compliance.
