Job summary

TheraPeds Partners is seeking a part-time Orientation & Mobility Specialist for a school-based role in Loveland, Ohio for the 2026-2027 year. The position is on-site, with 20 hours per week and compensation ranging from $55 to $75 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

The role guarantees hours and involves collaboration with school staff and families. You will assess, plan, and deliver individualized O&M instruction to students who are blind or visually impaired, develop IEP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred in Orientation & Mobility, Vision Studies, Special Education, or related field.
• Completion of a recognized Orientation & Mobility preparation program.
• Current COMS certification through ACVREP or eligibility to obtain certification, per district requirements.
• Ohio educational licensure, certification, or authorization as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide O&M instruction to students in one-on-one and small-group settings.
• Conduct comprehensive O&M assessments and evaluations to determine needs.
• Develop measurable IEP goals and objectives based on assessments.
• Implement instruction identified in students' IEPs.
• Teach mobility techniques, including cane skills and environmental concepts.
• Collaborate with TVIs, teachers, therapists, families, and administrators.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies.
