Job summary

Building Connections Behavioral Health seeks a School-Based Occupational Therapist for in-person support in Walnut Creek, Concord, and Martinez. Typical hours are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with potential for full- or part-time employment in a collaborative school-based setting.

The role requires an OT license, CA driver’s license, and experience applying pediatric OT techniques within educational programs, including IEP collaboration and family engagement.

Qualifications

• OT license required and board certification/registration with AOTA or NBCOT.
• Valid CA driver’s license.
• Experience applying OT techniques for children with disabilities.
• Knowledge of California Special Education laws and policies.
• Ability to assess developmental status and educational needs and maintain progress data.

Responsibilities

• Develop Building Connections OT program.
• Provide OT services per IEP to students.
• Write assessment reports and IEP goals; maintain progress records and participate in IEP meetings.
• Provide individual and group OT sessions to address sensory‑motor integration.
• Develop OT treatment plans aligned with educational goals and collaborate with IEP team.
• Demonstrate strategies to families for home interventions and train staff as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of laws governing Special Education in California and support program compliance.

Education

Occupational Therapy License (Required)

Registered with the American Occupational Therapy Association and/or NBCOT

California driver's license
