Job summary

The OT will assess, plan, and provide direct or consultative services to enhance academic performance in self-care, sensory-motor, and functional skills, and will collaborate with teachers and families. The position requires NBCOT exam passage, state licensure, daily site presence, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy.
• Must pass the NBCOT exam for Occupational Therapy.
• Hold a valid state license/certification.
• Must be physically present at the designated job site each scheduled work day.
• Regular and reliable attendance required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds when moving therapy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat students eligible for therapy under IEP.
• Communicate student needs to families, teachers, and professionals.
• Maintain therapy records, attendance, progress, and Medicaid reports.
• Schedule students according to IEP.
• Educate teachers and families about occupational therapy.
• Attend IEPs and related meetings as required.
• Develop and implement new OT programs and techniques.
