Job summary

San José Unified seeks an Occupational Therapist to partner with students, families and school teams. You will assess diverse student needs and design targeted therapy to enhance education access and independence.

You will implement plans aligned with IEP goals, deliver direct and consultative services, and monitor progress while maintaining compliant documentation and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably with children.
• Master's degree consistent with licensing requirements.
• California Board of Occupational Therapy License.
• Current registration with the NBCOT.
• CPR / First Aid Certificate.
• Resume and Letter of Introduction outlining desire and qualifications for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assess students’ physical, sensory, motor, and functional needs within the educational environment.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals.
• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to support student access to curriculum and school activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to recommend strategies, accommodations, and adaptive equipment.
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed to support growth and independence.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state, federal, and district regulations.
