Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) is seeking contract School Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses to provide direct care for students with diverse medical needs in school and transport settings.

Responsibilities include collaborating with school staff, conducting health assessments, performing standard nursing procedures, and supporting health promotion and disease prevention for students.

Qualifications

• Provide direct care to students with varying diagnoses on transport and in school settings.
• Interact with school staff, parents, and administrators to support student safety and wellbeing.
• Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.

Responsabilités

• Provide nursing care to students per physician orders and care plans.
• Assess student health needs and document observations.
• Coordinate with DPSCD staff on schedules and patient care during school hours.
• Assist with screenings, point-of-care testing, CLIA-waived tests, and vaccinations when required.
• Report illnesses or injuries to parents/guardians and DPSCD staff.
