Job summary

Bethesda Lutheran Services is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Worker to support children and adolescents in a Partial Hospitalization program. You will provide behavioral and mental health support, aid with treatment room management, and implement therapeutic interventions that promote safety and positive outcomes for youth.

The role requires patience, adaptability, and a commitment to helping young people navigate behavioral and emotional challenges in a structured, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to multitask and maintain a professional demeanor while supporting multiple students.
• Strong verbal and written communication with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to de-escalate emotionally charged situations using the least restrictive approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral support and crisis intervention in treatment room settings.
• Support Bethesda students by implementing behavioral and therapeutic interventions.
• Assist design and implementation of the summer treatment room program.
• Liaise with Bethesda Lutheran Services, schools, parents, and other parties.
• Provide supervision during field trips.
• Maintain client files and documentation.
• Plan and facilitate therapeutic groups.
• Assist with scheduling and program planning.
• Collaborate with team to maintain a cohesive treatment environment.
• Provide counseling and therapeutic interventions appropriate to the program.
• Supervise self-administration of medication per policy.
