Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) in Asheville, NC, seeks a School Based Behavioral Health Therapist to provide outpatient mental health treatment in assigned schools. Responsibilities include assessments, individual/family/group therapy, and crisis support per program guidelines.

The role requires a Master’s in Mental Health, Counseling, or Social Work and licensure (LCSW/LMHC/PhD). Regular hours, on-site in schools, with a salary range of $63,800–$84,500 and MAHEC Total Rewards.

Formación

• Master’s degree in Mental Health, Counseling, or Social Work is required.
• Licensure as LCSW, LMHC, or Doctoral level Psychologist (PhD, PsyD) is required; provisional license allowed.
• Bilingual Spanish/English language skills preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide individual, family, and group therapy in school-based settings.
• Conduct Comprehensive Clinical Assessments, trauma-screenings, threat assessments and crisis plans.
• Document progress notes, treatment plans, and authorizations within required timeframes.
• Participate in clinical staffing, supervision, and coordination with the SBHB team.
