Job summary

Rockbridge Area Community Services is seeking a School Intervention Specialist to support students' mental health and academic success. This role involves providing direct behavioral interventions and collaborating with educators to develop effective support strategies.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in a human service-related field and have experience in a mental health setting. RACS offers a supportive environment with competitive pay, tuition reimbursement, and various benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a human service-related field required; mental health or social work focus preferred.
  • One to three years working with children/adolescents in a mental health setting is preferred.
  • QMHP or QMHP-Trainee status (or eligibility) with the Virginia Board of Health Professions is preferred.
  • Valid Virginia driver's license and safe driving record per RACS policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct behavioral interventions and therapeutic support to students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to develop effective support strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency standards.
  • Advocate for students by connecting them to appropriate community resources.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
