Job summary

Tree of Life Family Services LLC is seeking an In School Mental Health Counselor for Loudoun County, VA. This role provides individual therapy and behavioral support to students in the school setting, aligned with Medicaid-funded TDT services and credential requirements.

You will collaborate with teachers and families, conduct student sessions, and participate in supervision. The position supports part-time or full-time schedules with potential caseload growth and school-day hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, human services, or a related field.
• Active Virginia QMHP-Trainee or QMHP registration or equivalent credential required before independent Medicaid TDT service delivery.
• Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries with students.
• Strong communication, organization, documentation, and time-management skills.
• Reliable transportation to assigned school locations in Loudoun County.
• Ability to collaborate with families and school personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual therapeutic interventions and behavioral support to assigned students.
• Engage students in developmentally appropriate therapeutic activities aligned with treatment goals.
• Conduct individual sessions and required classroom observations.
• Implement treatment goals and monitor student progress.
• Conduct weekly family sessions and maintain professional communication with parents/guardians.
• Participate in care coordination with school personnel and other providers monthly.
• Collaborate with teachers, social workers, administrators, families, and treatment team.
