Job summary

Tree of Life Family Services LLC in Loudoun County, VA seeks a School Counselor to provide therapeutic support for children and adolescents within the school setting. The role is caseload-based with hours driven by schedules, authorizations, and program operations.

The position requires active Virginia QMHP credentials or trainee status and strong communication, documentation, and collaboration with school staff. Availability Monday–Friday during standard school hours is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, human services, or related behavioral health field.
• Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
• Ability to build rapport with students while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Reliability and punctuality; able to travel to multiple school locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual therapeutic interventions and behavioral support to assigned students.
• Engage students in therapeutic activities aligned with treatment goals.
• Conduct individual sessions and classroom observations.
• Implement treatment goals and monitor progress.
• Conduct weekly family sessions and communicate with parents/guardians.
• Participate in care coordination with school staff and other providers.
• Collaborate with teachers, social workers, and administrators.
• Complete accurate clinical documentation in line with policy and required standards.
• Participate in treatment planning, supervision, and student meetings as required.
• Provide crisis intervention and follow safety protocols; participate in virtual staff meetings.
