Job summary

Project Play Therapy in Nashville is seeking a School Counselor to provide direct counseling to students in the school setting, addressing mental health, behavioral and emotional needs. You will collaborate with school-based teams, communicate with families, and coordinate with staff to schedule sessions, maintain confidential notes in our EMR, and deliver progress updates to partners and parents.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or equivalent proof of certification as specified.
• Tennessee State License in LMFT/LPC/LCSW/School Counselor or School Psychologist; temp licenses considered with supervision.
• Relevant school-based experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct counseling/therapy to students in a school-based setting.
• Collaborate with school teams to maintain confidentiality and student support.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student educational and mental health concerns.
• Engage with staff, families, and community partners to support students affected by trauma or crisis.
• Create schedules that fit students’ academic and mental health needs.
• Maintain accurate records in Project Play’s EMR and provide progress updates.
