Job summary

Hartford Public Schools seeks a Mental Health Clinician to provide clinical mental health services within the School Based Health Center at M.D. Fox School/Sanchez Elementary School. The role supports students across social-emotional needs and collaborates with school staff.

Responsibilities include psychosocial assessment, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and linking families to community resources. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred; licensure required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in social work, psychology, or counseling.
• LCSW/LMFT/LPC license required by CT Department of Public Health.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Experience with school‑aged children and families.
• Ability to work autonomously and with school/community groups.
• Prior community clinic provider experience.
• Familiar with Hartford area services and resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychosocial assessment to students.
• Offer individual and group counseling to students and their parents.
• Provide crisis intervention.
• Refer students to community resources for social and mental health services.
• Aid in developing crisis procedures.
• Collaborate with School Based Health Center staff and other school staff.
• Serve as field instructor for student interns.
• Maintain written documentation and billing records for services.
• Prepare monthly reports and maintain required records.
