Job summary

SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) seeks a qualified Mental Health Professional I to provide clinical mental health services in a school setting, serving students and families in the Orangeburg School District. This essential role requires collaboration with treatment teams, adherence to HIPAA, CARF standards, and community consultation with teachers.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences or a related field.
• Must be licensure eligible in his/her specific field of study.
• Experience providing direct patient care in school mental health services preferred.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical mental health services in a school setting under general supervision.
• Assessment, crisis management, individual, group and family therapy.
• Consultation and training to teachers and community; participate in parent-teacher conferences.
• Develop, arrange, and facilitate services for assigned caseload when school is not in session.
• Participate in data collection and outcomes reporting for school-based mental health projects.
• Maintain medical records and clinical documentation to meet QA and CARF standards.
