Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner for Community Counseling, primarily in a school setting with potential outpatient work in Omaha, NE.

The licensed clinician will assess, plan and deliver evidence-based interventions (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care), collaborating with school personnel and families to support positive student outcomes while upholding ethical, confidential practice.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or related field.
• Minimum of one year post-master’s clinical experience with major mental illness, counseling/therapy, and/or substance use/abuse treatment.
• Nebraska Provisional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP) or Nebraska Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP) required; Licensed Alcohol Drug Abuse Counselor (LADC) preferred; Certified Marriage and Family Therapist (CMFT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and determine appropriate levels of care.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide psychotherapy and counseling using evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers and stakeholders to ensure holistic and integrated care.
• Crisis Intervention: respond to mental health crises and provide immediate support.
• Document progress notes and treatment plans.
