Intercept Youth Services is seeking a Therapeutic Aide in Roanoke, Virginia. This position involves working directly with clients in a school setting to implement behavior management strategies. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma and experience with children, preferably including direct work with those who have autism.
The role offers hourly compensation up to $19/hour, comprehensive health benefits, and opportunities for training and development in a supportive environment.
Hourly compensation expectation is up to $19/hour (based on experience). Hours are Monday - Friday 7 AM – 4:00 PM
As a Therapeutic Aide, you will work 1:1 or in a small group setting with clients inside a local school district. You will implement behavior principles to increase the use of coping skills and pro‑social skills in the school environment and decrease unsafe or disruptive behavior using trauma‑informed methods. You will observe client skills and collect data to be used in assessing the individual’s skills and to develop their program goals. You will collaborate with school personnel, attend school‑related meetings and provide coaching, training, and support to parents and/or caregivers in behavior‑management strategies to increase the generalization of the individual’s skill sets.
The selected candidate will have at least a high school diploma and previous professional experience working with children. A bachelor’s degree in behavioral science is preferred; specific experience with children who have autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities, or ABA experience, is a plus!
