Job summary

Intercept Youth Services is looking for a dedicated Therapeutic Aide to work within local school districts in Virginia. In this role, you’ll provide support to children by implementing behavior strategies and fostering positive environments to enhance coping skills.

Suitable candidates should have at least a high school diploma and experience with children, ideally those with Autism. Intercept offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.

Qualifications

• At least a high school diploma and previous professional experience working with children.
• Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science is preferred.
• Specific experience with children with Autism or developmental disabilities is a plus.

Hourly compensation expectation is up to $19/hour (based on experience).

As a Therapeutic Aide, you will work 1:1 or in a small group setting with clients inside a local school district. You will implement behavior principles to increase the use of coping skills and pro‑social skills in the school environment and decreasing unsafe or disruptive behavior using trauma‑informed methods. You will observe client skills and collect data to be used in assessing the individual's skills and to develop their program goals. You will collaborate with school personnel, attend school‑related meetings and provide coaching, training, and support to parents and/or caregivers in behavior management strategies to increase generalization of individual's skill sets.

Education and Experience Required:

The selected candidate will have at least a high school diploma and previous professional experience working with children. Bachelor's degree in Behavioral science is preferred; specific experience with children who have Autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities, or ABA experience, is a plus!
