Job summary

Boston Speech Therapy is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide school-based OT under the supervision of a licensed OT. The COTA will work directly with students to help improve functional skills for participation and success throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited OTA program.
• NBCOT-certified COTA with current state licensure.
• Experience with children or school settings preferred; new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor OT treatment plans under supervision.
• Provide individual and small-group OT services to students.
• Support development of fine motor, sensory processing, handwriting, and self-care skills.
• Monitor progress toward IEP goals and communicate changes to the supervising OT.
• Maintain accurate documentation and treatment notes.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff.
• Participate in team meetings and share progress information.
• Educate staff and families on strategies to support functional skills.
• Maintain therapy materials and ensure a safe, organized environment.
• Follow district policies and confidentiality standards.
