Job summary

Boston Speech Therapy seeks a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide school-based OT services under the supervision of a licensed OT. The COTA will work directly with students to improve functional skills throughout the school day.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, delivering individual and small-group sessions, and monitoring progress toward IEP goals while maintaining accurate documentation and collaborating with teachers and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or associate degree requirement: OTA program.
• NBCOT credential current.
• State licensure or authorization to practice as an OTA.
• Experience with children or school setting preferred; new graduates encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans and goals set by supervising OT.
• Provide individual and small-group OT services to students.
• Support development of fine motor, visual-motor, sensory, self-care, handwriting and coordination skills.
• Monitor progress toward IEP goals and report to supervising OT.
• Communicate observations and changes in performance to the supervising OT.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.
• Assist with accommodations, sensory strategies and adaptive equipment in school.
• Collaborate with teachers, special ed staff, families and related-service providers.
