Job summary

Princeton Staffing Solutions is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students in a school-based setting. You will work with licensed OTs to implement therapy plans promoting participation and independence in classroom environments.

The role focuses on fine motor, sensory integration, self-care, and coordination, with collaboration from teachers and families. State licensure and NBCOT are required; school-based experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
• Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
• School-based experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating students' developmental needs under the supervision of a licensed OT.
• Carry out individualized treatment plans focused on fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and coordination.
• Document student progress and adjust interventions as directed by the supervising OT.
• Support students during classroom tasks and adapt materials to meet diverse needs.
• Conduct individual and small group therapy sessions to foster social and functional skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to reinforce therapy goals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and review of student goals.
• Educate parents and educators on tools and techniques to support therapy outside of sessions.
• Maintain compliance with state licensure requirements and school district policies.
• Stay updated on current pediatric therapy practices and apply evidence-based strategies
