Job summary

Princeton Staffing Solutions is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students in a school-based setting in Port Saint Lucie, FL. You will assist licensed OTs in implementing therapy plans to promote student participation and independence.

Required qualifications include an accredited OTA degree, NBCOT certification, and state licensure; school-based experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• NBCOT certification is required
• Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• School-based experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating students' developmental needs under the supervision of a licensed OT
• Carry out individualized treatment plans focusing on fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and coordination
• Document student progress and adjust interventions as directed by the supervising OT
• Support students during classroom tasks and adapt materials to meet diverse needs
• Conduct individual and small group therapy sessions to foster social and functional skills
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to reinforce therapy goals
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goals
• Educate parents and educators on therapy tools and techniques outside sessions
• Maintain compliance with state licensure requirements and school policies
• Stay updated on current pediatric therapy practices and apply evidence-based strategies
