Job summary

Valley Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support its school-based healthcare program across designated sites in Stewart and Calhoun Counties.

This role requires regular travel between assigned school locations to provide clinical and administrative support and deliver high-quality care to students. The CMA will perform clinical tasks such as vitals, immunizations, injections, lab support, and minor procedures while also handling clerical duties, records

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current CMA certification (Georgia or nationally recognized).
• Minimum 6 months CMA experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and emergency response skills.
• Professionalism, integrity, and patient confidentiality.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel regularly between sites.
• Background-check and clearance requirements for Valley Healthcare System and school partners.
• Experience with children/adolescents preferred.
• Experience in school-based, pediatric, family-practice, or community-health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clinical duties: collect patient information, vitals, assist procedures, immunizations, injections, lab work, x-ray, sterilize instruments.
• Clerical duties: document check-in, file reports, complete patient forms, arrange referrals, schedule appointments, maintain confidential records.
• Unit maintenance: sterilize and restock instruments, maintain exam rooms and equipment.
• Quality assurance: participate in meetings, support quality improvement and care-gap initiatives, follow infection-control protocols.
• School-based and multi-site: travel between sites, prepare/close clinical areas, support pediatric/adolescent patients, coordinate with school staff and Valley team, manage authorizations and patient data, adapt to school calendars.
