Job summary

Valley Healthcare System, Inc. seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support its school-based healthcare program across designated sites in Stewart and Calhoun Counties. Travel between sites is required to support students and families with clinical and administrative tasks.

The CMA will collect patient information, assist with procedures, manage records, and coordinate with school staff to provide high-quality, compassionate care in a multi-site setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current CMA certification (Georgia or nationally recognized).
• Minimum 6 months CMA experience preferred.
• Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel regularly between sites in Stewart and Calhoun Counties.
• Ability to meet background-check and clearance requirements.
• Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
• Experience in school-based, pediatric, family-practice, or community-health settings preferred.
• Ability to work effectively and independently in multiple clinical environments.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient information, vital signs, and age-specific measurements.
• Assist with medical procedures and administer treatments.
• Prepare and administer immunizations and injections.
• Support laboratory functions: specimen collection and packaging.
• Perform routine x-ray and lab procedures under supervision.
• Sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated materials.
• Document check-in procedures and manage patient records.
• Gather and file diagnostic reports for provider review.
• Assist with appointment scheduling, referrals, and test results.
• Maintain daily workflow with efficiency and confidentiality.
• Travel between school-based sites and prepare clinical areas at each location.
• Coordinate with school administrators, nurses, teachers, parents, and Valley Healthcare System team.
