Job summary

Memorial Health System is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support across primary care, surgical and specialty practices. The CMA will reconcile medications in the EMR, enter orders, administer meds, and ensure accurate documentation in the patient's chart.

The role includes patient registration, scheduling, and basic financial tasks, with an emphasis on AIDET and quality care. BLS and MA certification are required; AHCA/EHR processes may apply.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED required.
• Completion of accredited medical assistant program with AAMA, RMA, or NHA certification or approved equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with procedures as necessary for patient care under physician-validated CMA scope.
• Reconcile medications in the EMR with each patient encounter.
• Enter medication orders in EMR per policy; submit new/refills to patient’s pharmacy.
• Administer provider-ordered medications per policy guidelines.
• Document prescriptions (electronic), per execution time in patient record.
• Collect specimens and prepare documentation per department standards.
• Perform front office duties: scheduling, payments, phone calls routing.
• Register patients using AIDET techniques and verify/update records.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; collect co-pays and liabilities.
• Refer complex financial questions to counselors and maintain patient records.
