Job summary

The Guidance Center is seeking a School Based Clinician to deliver clinical services to students and families within local school districts in Kansas. This role focuses on intake assessments, psychotherapy (individual, family, and group), and coordinated referrals for testing, medication management, and case management.

The position requires a Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy or Professional Counseling and licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy or Professional Counseling.
• Licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as LMSW/LMLP/LMFT/LPC/LSCSW/LCP/LCMFT by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake assessments and initial treatment planning.
• Provide psychotherapy (individual, family, and group) and ongoing treatment planning.
• Refer to outpatient office for psychological testing, interpretation, and report-writing as needed.
• Refer to outpatient office to include medication management, case management, attendant care, and other services as needed.
• Collaborate with school administrators and social work staff.
• Continue psychotherapy during summer months at outpatient office.
• Provide daytime crisis services when needed.
• Observe student behavior in classroom and give feedback to teachers and staff.
• Provide training to school district staff on mental health topics.

The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Behavioral Health Clinic serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. School Based Clinician

The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a School Based Clinician to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. This position is responsible for providing clinical services to students and families in local school districts.

• Competitive annual salary of $81,769.64 to $86,919.64; depending upon qualifications.

Primary Duties

1. Provide intake assessments and initial treatment planning
2. Provide psychotherapy (individual, family, and group) and on-going treatment planning
3. Make referrals to TGC's outpatient office for psychological testing, interpretation, and report-writing as needed.
4. Make referrals to TGC outpatient office to include medication management, case management, attendant care, and other services as needed.
5. Work collaboratively with school administrators and social work staff.
6. During the summer months, continue to provide psychotherapy (individual, family, and group) and on-going treatment planning at the outpatient office.
7. Provide daytime crisis services when needed.
8. Observe student behavior in the classroom when appropriate and provide feedback to teachers and others regarding student behavior.
9. Provide training to school district staff related to specific mental health issues on an ongoing basis.
10. Ensure that all clinical services provided are following clinical guidelines of The Guidance Center and regulatory bodies

Requirements

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy or Professional Counseling,and Licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as a LMSW, LMLP, LMFT, LPC, LSCSW, LCP, LCPC OR LCMFT by the first day of employment.

EXPERIENCE

Required: Two semester's master-level practicum experience in a clinical setting providing assessmentand therapy services.

Preferred:post master's clinical experience, and experience with the Kansas system of community-based mental health care and associated evidence-based practices.
