Job summary

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking a Mental Health Behavior Interventionist for the Bremerton West Hills School. This role provides behavioral and therapeutic support to students within an on-site program, operating within a multidisciplinary team to foster a structured, supportive environment and engage families to promote student well-being.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, relevant experience with intensive milieu-based programs, and agency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in psychology, social services, or behavioral health.
• Four+ years of relevant experience working with children in intensive milieu-based programs.
• Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration; FBI fingerprinting required for contractors with school districts.

Responsibilities

• Support students to follow program expectations and address behavioral issues as needed.
• Observe and redirect student behavior with supervision.
• Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
• Offer one-to-one interventions and support transitions for students.
• Engage with families and coordinate with other systems or services.
• Attend team meetings and IEP-related discussions as needed.
• Provide guidance to school faculty and participate in staff meetings.
• Document client progress to maintain permanent records.
• Organize social skills and therapeutic groups for students.
• Assist in program operations, such as supplies and activities.
