Burrell Behavioral Health in Columbia, MO is seeking a School-Based Support Specialist to deliver intensive outpatient case management for youth in school settings, coordinating care with families, schools, and community partners to promote recovery, resilience, and academic success.

The role focuses on individualized interventions during school hours, with additional home and community support as needed, and requires collaboration, documentation, and adherence to agency standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of case management, rehab methods, and treatment planning.
• Understanding behavioral health challenges and community support.
• Familiarity with ethical, legal, and procedural standards.
• Ability to build relationships with youth, families, schools.
• Effective written and verbal communication; de-escalation.
• Ability to coordinate services across agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral health interventions aligned with treatment goals in school settings.
• Support students' development of coping strategies, social-emotional functioning, and daily life skills.
• Coordinate care with schools, families, and other providers.
• Manage an assigned caseload, ensure documentation is timely, and services are effective and person-centered.
• Provide crisis intervention and follow-up, including outreach for missed appointments.
• Conduct home visits and outreach as needed to support youth and family engagement.
• Assist with quality assurance activities, data collection, and compliance with agency protocols and contractual requirements.
• Actively participate in staff development, supervision, and professional evaluation activities.
• Adapting to evolving student needs and supporting program goals with flexibility and collaboration.
