Job summary

Adams 12 Five Star Schools in Thornton, CO seeks a paraeducator to support Independence Academy’s neurodiverse students with academic and behavioral instruction. You will aid staff in implementing IEP and Behavior Intervention Plans, and help students participate in class activities in both classroom and non-classroom settings.

High school diploma or equivalent is required; completion of Registered Behavior Technician training within six months is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion Registered Behavior Technician training within six (6) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide support at Independence Academy in all classroom and non-classroom settings to help students participate in class activities.
• Assist students with special needs in daily routines and behavioral supports; implement behavior plans with staff.
• Work under supervision of a behavior specialist and participate in feedback cycles on behavioral supports.
• Participate in professional development related to behavioral supports.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
