Job summary

Drury High School in North Adams, MA is seeking a Behavior Technician for the 2026/2027 school year. The role supports students with behavioral needs and follows BCBA-guided strategies within IEP frameworks.

Supervision is provided by the Building Principal and Director of Student Support Services. The position is school-year only, 7 hours per day, 5 days per week (180 days). The starting date is August 26, 2026.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent course hours or passing score on parapro exam.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Willing to undergo additional specialized training.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to provide a highly structured approach to behavioral management
  • Work with students to reduce behaviors such as aggression, self-injury, property destruction, disruption
  • Use strategies provided by the BCBA (ie discrete trial training) to instruct students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs
  • Provide mentoring and direct support to students during specified un-structured times of the day (lunch, recess, etc)
  • Collect data on behavioral interventions and assist in monitoring progress
  • With teachers and other support staff, implement elements of student behavior intervention plans under the supervision of the BCBA and Special Education Coordinator
  • Participate in meetings (IEP, Behavior Plan, etc.) as necessary.
